I’ve been going here for a few months now, and while the price is definitely good, the gym itself feels neglected. Machines seem to stay out of order for way too long, the lockers are hit or miss, and the showers often have something wrong with them. The changing rooms also don’t feel as clean as they should. The staff have been fine in my experience, but the lack of maintenance really brings the place down. unless things improve, I’m not sure I’ll be renewing
"I never run out of classes to try"
Bottom line, I’m really happy with how many classes there are. I never feel stuck doing the same thing over and over. Some days I’m in the mood for spin, other days I’ll go for yoga or circuits, and it’s usually easy to find something that works with my schedule. It keeps things interesting, which is exactly what I need.

From what I remember, the gym itself is fine and I’ve never really had a big issue with the equipment or the space. It’s the opening hours that stick out to me as the problem. A few times I’ve tried to go after work and realized it was already closing soon, and weekends always seem to feel shorter than I expect. It just makes it hard to stay consistent, so I end up skipping sessions more than I’d like. I really wish they had more flexible hours.

I’ve been to this gym a few times, and while the equipment is usable, the machines often feel a bit grimy. The changing rooms could definitely use a proper deep clean too. Reading between the lines, it feels like the place isn’t getting the regular attention it needs, which is a shame because it could be a much better gym with better upkeep.

"They actually keep on top of the machines"
I’ve been going to Simply Gym for a few months now, and one thing that’s stood out is that the equipment actually seems looked after. If a machine has a problem, there’s usually a note on it, and it doesn’t just sit there for weeks. I asked about one once and the reply was basically, “Yeah, we’ve logged it and someone’s coming out,” and to be fair, it was sorted quickly.
The weights are usually put back where they should be too, which makes a bigger difference than you’d think. It’s not perfect every single day, but compared to my last gym, it’s much better maintained. Just makes the whole workout feel less frustrating.

"Parking hasn’t been stressful"
I usually feel relieved coming here because I can almost always find a spot nearby. Parking can make or break the whole experience for me, so it’s nice not having to worry about it much.

"Contract was mostly clear"
I joined Simply Gym and, from what I remember, the contract was straightforward. I think I signed up a few weeks ago, or maybe it was last month, but either way I didn’t notice any strange hidden fees or anything like that. The only part that took me a bit longer was finding the cancellation info, because I had to read through a few sections before it clicked. Overall though, it felt fair enough and easy to understand...

"I think the billing has been right so far"
I’ve been using it for a few months now, and as far as I can tell, the charges have matched what I expected each month. I haven’t noticed any random extra fees or anything, which is good. I’m a little confused why the receipts take so long to show up sometimes, but other than that the billing seems fine

"Friendly staff and a solid gym"
I’ve been going here for a bit now, though I can’t remember if I first started a few months ago or earlier than that. Either way, the staff have always been really friendly and usually say hi when I walk in. I had a couple questions at one point, maybe last week or the week before, and they helped me out quickly. The gym itself is nice enough too. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and I don’t really have any major complaints.

"Just didn’t feel like the right fit"
The gym itself is fine and has what you need, but the vibe felt a little cold to me. People mostly keep to themselves, and the staff didn’t really make much effort to chat or make you feel welcome. I usually trust my gut with places like this, i never got that sense of community I was hoping for, which was disappointing.

"I joined because the price was decent, but..."
I joined because the price was decent, but it was way too packed most of the time. After work, it felt like everyone in the area was there at once, and you could barely get near the machines without waiting around.
I ended up spending more time hovering than actually working out. The free weights area was just as bad, basically a constant queue, which gets old really fast when you’re just trying to get a normal session in.
I also got stuck in a support loop when I tried asking about cancelling, being passed around and getting the same generic replies, which made the whole thing more frustrating. Maybe it’s better if you can go in the middle of the day, but for regular after-work hours, it wasn’t worth it for me

Booked my spin class on the site without any hassle, and the confirmation came through quickly. i was glad it just worked because I never really trust customer service to sort things out if something goes wrong. No drama this time though

"Kind of wish I’d looked around more"
I did a few sessions with a personal trainer here, and while he definitely knew what he was talking about, I left feeling a little disappointed. Some of the sessions felt rushed, and it didn’t really seem tailored to my goals as much as I’d hoped. The gym itself is fine, but for the price, I regret not checking out a few other options first.

"Customer service took ages to reply"
I contacted Simply Gym about an issue with my membership at first I wasn’t too bothered because I figured they were probably busy. But after waiting around and having to chase more than once, I started getting frustrated.
When they finally replied, I felt a bit relieved for a second, but the answer was really basic and didn’t actually help much. It just left me feeling disappointed, because the whole thing could’ve been sorted so much quicker.

"Pretty safe for late workouts, but I’d leave if that changed"
I usually go after work, sometimes later in the evening, and I’ve never felt unsafe there. The controlled entry helps, the lockers seem fine, and there’s usually staff around if you need someone. The changing room can get a little crowded at times, which is mildly annoying, but overall the place feels secure enough for me. That said, if security started slipping, I’d probably look for another gym.

"Always waiting around for machines"
The gym itself is fine, and I don’t really have any major complaints about the space. But this is where it got annoying: most evenings, half the machines or equipment I want to use are either already taken or just missing. I end up standing around way more than I’d like, and it makes a normal workout take longer than it should.

The showers were good, actually, really good. The water got nice and hot, and the pressure was spot on.

"Super convenient gym for me"
Simply Gym is in a really handy spot for me. It is close to home and easy to get to after work, so I do not have to go out of my way. That makes it a lot easier to keep going regularly. Parking has usually been fine too, which is a nice bonus.

"Maybe not quite worth the monthly cost"
The gym is okay overall, but for what you’re paying each month, I’m not sure it really feels like great value. The equipment and space are fine, just maybe a bit too basic for the price.
